Some of Our Partners
Avenu is collaborative by nature and eager to participate in transformative projects where we can add lasting value. We are committed to building a vibrant, equitable corridor by attracting more community-based startups, while continuing to support tech, social, and maker businesses.
Uptown-West Oakland EcoInnovation District and the newly emerging Oakland innovation district.
Avenu is actively engaged with both these initiatives and will connect people and programs through place-making to help create an equitable community of residents, builders and entrepreneurs.
Oakland Real Estate Company has been and continues to be Avenu’s key partner in the Oakland district. ORECO’s willingness to experiment and iterate allowed the founding of Revv Oakland, supported many of the region’s best-known startups and attracted needed street level retail to the Oakland neighborhood.
Uptown Partners is a community-based organization of residents, institutions, and business owners–working together to build a vibrant community. Uptown Partners has been an advocate for both our work and our members from the beginning. Avenu is working closely with Uptown Partners to insure that business development fits and benefits the community.
The Oakland Business Improvement District’s vision is for Oakland to be recognized as a vibrant and dynamic business district that sets the national standard for other commercial districts’ growth and innovation. An early supporter of Revv Oakland and the startup scene in Oakland, OBID collaborates with Avenu to bring innovation programming and events to the Oakland innovation district.
Urban Innovation 21(UI21)
Urban Innovation21 is a unique public-private partnership that is supporting the growth of entrepreneurship in our region’s innovation economy and connecting that growth to underserved communities. Programs in the UI21 portfolio include the Pittsburgh Central Keystone Innovation Zone Program, Urban Innovation21 “Inclusive Innovation” Internship Program, Community-Based Grant Competition, Inclusive Innovation Equitable Development Program, Pittsburgh Wealth Building Initiative, Kiva Pittsburgh and the Citizen Science Lab. Avenu member qualifying businesses have in total collected $2.16M of benefits through UI21.
